nite

Issued to and used by the British S.A.S. (Special Air Service),
one of the most elite special forces in the world

Before the brand was conceived, its founder was an importer of Swiss timepieces when he learned about micro-capsules filled with tritium gas (Gaseous Tritium Light Source) and was impressed by technology.

He wasted no time in introducing the tritium illumination system to the UK Ministry of Defense and persuading the ministry that their country should make such watches as soon as possible.

Impressed by his passionate enthusiasm, the government agreed to embark on the collaborative project to develop and produce a timepiece equipped with the tritium illumination technology and fit for military use in extreme conditions.

Around two years of development period was put into this project to ensure the achievement of highest quality and performance in extreme conditions, and the result was the MX10 created in 2004.

Almost immediately, the watch was selected and issued to the elite UK special force, S.A.S., making its debut as a genuine military timepiece recognized and endorsed by the elite special force.

15 Gaseous Tritium Light Source (GTLS) are used on the watch dial and hands providing self-illumination between 10-20 years and allowing time-reading in pitch-dark and extreme conditions.

Today, nite watches are worn globally by people in the military, law enforcement units and outdoor pursuits.

Gaseous Tritium Light Source (GTLS)

The self-powered illumination system was developed by MB Microtec, a Swiss company in the self-luminous chemical compound industry.

Using micro gas capsules filled with gaseous tritium, self-powered illumination can be maintained for a long period of time, at least 10 years guaranteed and more than 20 years over its full lifespan, regardless of day or night.

Unlike phosphorescent or luminous coated watches which absorbs light and then re-emits it at a lower and reducing intensity over time, the gaseous tritium light source maintains a constant luminous intensity.

15 GTLS are used on the watch dial and hands. Since no pressing of any buttons for light activation is required, they are perfect for people engaged in outdoor activities and unpredictable conditions.
